An unusual breakaway is found in the fertile green hills around Yirgalem. This area famous for the delicious coffee grown in Ethiopia harbors a true hidden gem. The Aregash Lodge is a fine example of an eco-lodge.
Itinerary
After breakfast we pick you from your hotel and leave Addis Ababa to the south. En route we stop at Lake Ziway to watch the many waterbirds at its shore. After lunch in Hawassa we are only an hour away from the lodge in the green hills at a coffee plantation.
The Aregash Lodge is a peaceful heaven for those who seek relaxation and a welcome break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The bamboo thatched tukuls of Aregash Lodge are built in the style of a traditional Sidama village. Each bungalow is decorated with vibrant colors and furnished in traditional Sidama style to give a warm, luxurious feel. Delicious organic, home grown, food is served in the restaurant. It is a great place to relax although short walks are available.
We enjoy the tranquil surroundings for one more morning. After lunch we leave this beautiful place behind and travel back to Addis Ababa. Early evening we drop you at your hotel.
