Addis Ababa, half/ full day

Our beautiful capital Addis Ababa is a lively city with a rich history. As there is much to see you have to choose where you want to go. Below is our suggested itinerary. If your time is limited we can reduce the full day program to a half day tour.

For the full day program we pick you from your hotel after breakfast. First we drive up Entoto Hill to visit the Entoto Maryam Church, meanwhile enjoying beautiful views at the capital. On our way down to the city our first stop is at the Museum of the Institute for Ethiopian studies in a former palace of Emperor Haile Selassie, now the campus of the University of Addis Ababa. Depending on time a short visit to the National Museum might be possible before lunch.

In the afternoon we first visit the Trinity Cathedral. We drive through Piazza to visit the Saint George Cathedral and continue to visit the Mercato, the biggest market area of Africa. Or we can take you to the more cozy Shola market on the other side of the city. When time is still available we take you around in the up town Bole area, passing by the Medhane Alem cathedral, the biggist in town. We end our tour with a 'buna' somewhere along the Africa Avenue before we take you back to your hotel.
